PFA128 Memory
 |
One of two PCMCIA memory cards fitted into the side of a PFA128
|
The memory in the PFA128 is in two parts. Internally there is a RAM
memory of 128k bytes with it's own internal battery to ensure that data is
not lost.
The second memory is in each card that is plugged into the side of the
PFA128. These have a capacity of up to 4M bytes normally but
can be as high as 100M bytes for special applications. These
cards have their own internal battery to ensure that data is not lost.
The program, written in 'C', is stored in the card together with what we
call Housekeeping, where factors, rates and data tables are stored.
These figures may be altered using varying levels of password control.
For example, the Area Manager may set commission rates for the user whilst
VAT and IPT may be set by the user. |
